Thank you for your interest in Petix & Botte for your tax preparation services.
Let’s get started!
Steps for new client onboarding:
Please email Theresa to let her know you are interested in our tax preparation services. We are a referral-based business, so please include the name of the person who referred you.
Theresa will respond to you promptly and provide you with our fee schedule. She will work with you to collect the information we need to get started, such as a copy of your last year’s tax return.
If you are inquiring outside of tax season, you may request a complimentary introductory phone meeting with a tax preparer if you would like.
Once you’ve decided to move forward with our services, Theresa will send you a Tax Planner to fill out and return to us. We will also need to collect your tax documents.
We will send you an invitation to log in to SmartVault, our online client portal. Please follow the instructions in your email if you would like to be able to share digital files with us in this secure format.
During tax season, you will have a meeting with a tax preparer to review your tax return and go over any questions.
Payment for our tax preparation services will be due after you review your tax return and before we file your return.
You will receive a copy of your tax return as well as having a PDF in your SmartVault.
Please do not wait until tax season to contact us if you are interested. We are here all year and prefer to onboard new clients before tax season starts. Questions? Email Theresa@petixbotte.com. Read our FAQ page at the beginning of each tax season to get the most up-to-date information.
Thank you! We look forward to serving you!

Keeping Tax Records
You need to keep your tax records, but there are some documents you can purge before others. You can choose to keep your records electronically or on paper, whichever you prefer. Here is an in-depth list of how long to keep each type of record.
Where's My Refund?
Are you wondering when your refund is coming? If you are receiving a check, you can expect to wait 6 - 8 weeks. If you are receiving a direct deposit, you can expect it in less than three weeks. You can also track your IRS and California FTB refunds at the links below.
